Losing track of time
I am always amazed at how easily I can lose track of time. I was shocked when I realized it has been almost a week since my last post. How did that happen? Here is part of the reason.

Do you know how easy it is to lose yourself in buttons. Ooooh, they are mesmerizing. And when you happen to be compulsive organizer, it makes it even easier to get absorbed in them. My mom picked up a gallon size bag of buttons at a charity sale for $1. She also gave me an old tin full of buttons from my great aunt. She picked out a bunch that she liked and gave me the rest. It was one of those times when I was really glad that our tastes are different. I like the buttons she picked out to keep, but she still handed over a treasure trove of buttons she didn’t feel the need to keep. Yippee!
Thank you for all the sweet comments on my last post. I feel a bit embarrassed having said something to invite that kind of response, but I can’t say it doesn’t feel good after all. Thank you, lovely friends!
Lucky you! I LOVE buttons. I don’t really have enough to organize yet, so they all sit in a big jar. My kids love to go through them.
I have fond memories of going through the button box at my Grandmother’s house. Buttons and marbles, seem to me like treasure, somehow… multi-colors, ready to line up, arrange and sort. I think I was most facinated by the ones she called ‘jet’ buttons, a sparkling black kind in many shapes… I couldn’t quite figure what they had to do with an airplane, but I liked them best.
You lucky girl having so many buttons. I made my first purse yesterday and needed a button for it. My button collection is about 30 buttons. I’m going to keep an eye out for more.
We knew you were an artist since you were less than a year old, when you fingerpainted the walls and crib with a certain light brown medium that is not available at art supply stores! Just had to add that for all of your encouraging online friends to read!
oops! That was supposed to go on your last post. I am glad you are enjoying the buttons!
Buttons are so much fun to recieve, but sorting them is a task I can never get around to doing. I don’t know whether to sort by colour, size, material etc.
Do you have any plans for your new treasure trove?
hey, i found an old DISC test if you want to take it. We should get together again soon and maybe you can meet my roomie Em (she also likes to sew.)
oh I know what you mean about buttons! I was given a collection from one of my mothers elderly friends. I just kept sifting through them for days..
