Bedspread Bag
I finally took photos of this bag I made a few weeks ago. I took it when I went on a 5 mile hike this weekend and ended up wearing it like a backpack. But seeing it and using it reminded me that I had not taken pictures of it yet.

I bought this bedspread at Goodwill for a few bucks. There is so much of this quilted fabric, so I can’t wait to make more stuff out of it. I think the racing stripe gives it a little extra zing. I wish I had more time for sewing. I have mostly been doing spring cleaning, gardening, and working on a custom request for a friend. The bag I am making for a friend is nearing completion. I am working on the hand finishing now and I am very excited to photograph it and get it to her. She has waited long enough. I hope she likes it!
Your friend is very excited too. I like this bag, it’s really fun looking.
I love that material! I keep looking at our local thrift for some good prints, but am always disappointed. I love the idea of getting something like a blanket and bringing it back to life in new forms.
I really like those colours. It is amazing how good recycled stuff like that can look, particularly in bags I think.
I also really liked the baby clothes you made in earlier posts. If I had a baby, I would dress him/her in those groovy pants for sure.
Wonderful! The beadspread isn’t usually my taste, but the racing stripe makes all the difference. I love it!
nice design choice with the handle. tres chic.
Neat bag! I think my mom had that bedspread when I was little! 8-)
