Does this look red to you?

It’s official. We can now park two cars in the garage. Normally we have only been able to fit one car in this two and a half car garage. And for a few months it has been so crammed full of stuff that had been cleaned out of the attic and basement that you couldn’t get any cars into it at all. This week I took a huge load to the Goodwill and today I put a pile of stuff out with our trash pick up and there is now room for both cars. One of the things that was taking up space was this dresser I found for $15 at a thrift store. I was planning to put it in one of the kids rooms. On a whim I decided to go ahead and paint it and get it out of the garage. I originally was planning to clean it up and do a good job and maybe add some artsy detailing, but since I was in a hurry I opted for a light sanding and a few coats of spray paint. I am surprised by how much better it looks with color, but I am a little disappointed that it looks very burgundy instead of red. I need to bring it into our indoor lighting and see if that helps. If not, I might just have to go back to the original plan and call these coats of paint the primer.

The Boy Quilt

Okay, Daniel took the camera to work yesterday so it took me longer than I thought it would to get these posted. Today I was busy cleaning junk out of the house and garage so I haven’t gotten to posting these yet. But I looked at my site and thought I couldn’t wait any longer to put something else up beside my jaundiced looking hands on the last post. So here is the boy quilt. I am little concerned that it looks too much like some matching kids room crap you could buy at K-mart, but the vintage looking illustrations charmed me and I thought it would be fun to use this fabric.
